Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21, 1983. She is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. After her parents' divorce, she left Worthington Ohio in order to settle at Los Angeles. However, in 2001, despite finances, she was able to land her first major role in the online video series Rachel's Room as the main character. Following her win of a Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance of Murder in Greenwich of a 15-year aged Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace was able to take home the award. In 2004, Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost in which she acted as a principal character for the initial two seasons. She was also awarded an Screen Actors Guild Award shared by the entire cast. Grace left the television series in 2005 to pursue a more significant role in movies, and had a role opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. The actress has also appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well in 2007 and in Taken alongside Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. The actress reprised her character in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost and the final episode. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. The actress plays Faith an actress in a group and as her muse to the stars, who catches the interest of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. As a member of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the daughter of film makers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder cousin of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager she appeared in small roles in films made by her father. She also was co-starring with her twin brother on Donnie Darko the famous cult film. In 2002, she starred as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). The leading roles of Gyllenhaal in Secretary, an erotico-romantic comedy, as well as Sherrybaby (a film) have earned her nominations to the Golden Globe Awards. The Dark Knight, which came out in 2008 following several highly successful films including World Trade Center (2006) and World Trade Center (2006), earned Gyllenhaal more fame. In 2009, she was recognized for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role of a single mom in Crazy Heart. Her subsequent roles include Nanny McPhee as well as The Big Bang and Hysteria. Alongside her work as a Secret Service agent, she was also seen in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). Her most recent roles were the protagonist of the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal debuted as a writer and director in 2021 with her drama about psychological issues The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received with the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Academy Award.
